FAQ

Know everything about commissions

  • Regarding the subject of the painting

- You really want me to make a special piece for you, but you have absolutely no idea of what you want?

No worries, we'll define together what you like and don't like, and we'll start from there!

- You have a sense of what you want but can't visualize it?

Perfect! this is why I'm here for! This is the most common case, and I usually work with key words. They have a great potential for wide interpretation and to unleash the imagination.

- You know exactly what you want and picture it easily in your mind, you just need my hands to paint it?

This case is pretty rare, but it can happen. Congratulation, you have a great imagination!

I can do that, just remember, there are as much realities as human beings: I can't read your mind (not yet!), and the result will always be slightly different than what you imagined. If you commission me and not somebody else, that's because you like my style and my creativity!

  • What do the announced prices include?

- Research work (references, sketches, time for email exchanges)

- material (support, brushes, paint, mediums, varnish, time to pick them up)

- hours of painting

- extra work hours worked to gain perfection (my gift!)

- certificate of authenticity and goodies that I have in stock at that moment.

  • What do the announced prices not include?

- shipping cost

- frame (I can help you for that part and taking care of it if needed)

  • Is it possible to follow the work in progress?

Yes of course! this is our new baby, you have to make sure that it's doing good!

Some clients love to discover everything finished at the very end, others like to follow few steps in the making. It's really up to you. In any case, I always keep the communication going during the process, to tell you where I'm at.

Note: no element will be added or removed from the original sketch during the painting process. The sketch of the beginning is the final agreement we have before to start. Unlike a graphic designer or an illustrator, I can't change anything after this step.

  • What are the delays to have the finished piece hung on my wall?

It can vary according to the time it will take to be agree on the final sketch, the size of the piece and work required on

it, if you're in the urge to have it (if it's a gift, etc...), and if I'm working for a gallery show at the moment.

In any case, one month is the minimum time frame for your piece to be finished.

  • What are the payment policies?

Very simple: 50% before the final sketch, and 50% when I send you the picture of the achieved work, before shipping.

Most of artists are working this way, in order to protect both the clients and themselves: if you don't like the final piece, you don't have to pay the second 50%, and I keep the painting that I worked on for half price. Although it never happened to me before, this policy has to be fully respected.

Depending of the price of the painting, it may be more easy for you to stretch the payments in few times, which we can agree on.

You can pay through Paypal or bank transfer.
